Last weekend we went to Madagascar, Switzerland and thought of you! Madagascar, Switzerland?! How can this be?? We visited the gigantic and excellent tropical rainforest enclosure at the Zurich Zoo!
Lizard, we saw some of your relatives - chameleons. They had REALLY big tongues and were eating crickets.
The Daisy-picker and his tiger looked through binoculars from a hut in the forest. Daisy-picker learned that he had to keep his tiger quiet so that the other wildlife wouldn't get scared and hide.
Daisy identified these "buck-bucks" in the water.
And Herr Professor Doktor Hausfrau found a big bat hanging upside down in the tree! Good observation skills!
Daisy became very excited about these "meows", and wanted to tell Hoosierkitty all about them, but her older brother explained that they are actually Lemurs. He knows, because he has seen the movie "Madagascar" at least 17 times.
Switzerland was very cold that day - but once we were within Madagascar, it was a balmy 80 degrees F and we enjoyed our break from the winter.

For some reason, Daisy-picker was very excited to see the frogs - and they came in almost every color of the rainbow! Oldwren, do you like frogs? Do you have any idea why my children seem to have developed a particular fondness for frogs?We hope one day you all can visit Madagascar, Switzerland with us!

Oh my gosh how cool - thanks for the great travel tip - we will have to put this on our list of things to do.
