Poor Me

Dear Reader,

You're right, I'm not feeling well, thanks for asking.

It's my tummy.

Oh my poor tummy!

The Orginial Inhabitant and I have been finding some wonderful candy out in the yard. Little chocolate colored drops.

She looks worried about me, doesn't she?

She doesn't get upset from eating it so I guess she wonders why I do. It's so yummy. How can I help myself?

Of course part of the fun is finding the stuff. I have quite a nose for it. I'll just be walking along and catch the sweet scent - then snuffle around until I find the cache- ummmm. By the time the Servant realizes what I'm doing I've gobbled them up. (Then she yells, but I don't pay any attention)
Okay, so maybe I shouldn't have eaten so much.

Don't worry about that stuff on the floor, I'll clean it up.
Right now I just want to be left alone to suffer.
Oh poor me.

Ball Game

Dear Reader,
I am trying to make things interesting for these rather boring folks I'm staying with. They try, you know, but they're awfully stodgy!

For example, take the classic Ball game. You know how it goes: toss the ball, chase the ball, bring the ball back.
That's fine for a while but a clever fellow like me can think of a hundred ways to make it better.

So I'm trying to teach them this new version of the game.
I thought it up all by myself. Here's how it goes:

I bring the ball back, just like the classic game.

I position the ball on the floor in front of me.

Now, I say to them, now you try to pick up the ball.

I let them get pretty close to the ball....tease them into thinking that they can pick it up....

then like lightning I snatch the ball!
They reach for it! I evade their hands with ease!

Ha! Isn't this fun?

Then I let them get part of the ball. They pull. They tug. They shake it around.
My powerful jaws are set. My strong teeth are fixed. They will never get the ball away from me!

Oh what fun this is!

Wait! Where is everyone going? Don't you want to play some more?

I don't know why they don't like my version of the game.

Toby again

You know, sometimes I don't mind sharing the sunlight sleeping spot. That is, as long as the Dog behaves himself.
And doesn't cast a shadow on my spot.
And doesn't do that twitching thing.
And quits startling up every time someone moves.
And actually....
actually I think I need my own spot.

Lazy day

Dear Readers,
There is nothing more comforting than a warm cuddle on a chilly day, on a quiet afternoon with the sun coming in the window.
Ahhhhhh....

Vigilance Thwarted

Hey! Over here! You shut the door on me!Why'd you do that?

Didn't I tell you someone new was here?

Shouldn't I be out there making sure he's okay? He's playing with the Old Guy. I could play too!
I just want to sniff a little and hug his leg and check out his bag and his pockets.

You'd feel safer if I did, you know you would.

I'm waiting.

I'm right here.

Go on, open the door.

Toby sets priorities straight.

Okay, enough with the blogging already.
I don't mind being a laptop cat but this computing stuff goes on too long.
So give me that camera already.

I'm going to show you where your priorities should be!

See that empty dish? There should be something in it!
Like, right now!

That's the idea. Hurry up!
You humans are so slow.

Yum. Num.
Don't go away.
I'm going to want more.

Toby takes over

What is that dog saying about me?
Who put him in charge?
I do NOT keep my eyes closed all the time.
I just have incredible reflexes and am fast enough to shut them before the flash goes off. I think it's time I straightened out a few things around here.
