In Black and White

Last night we went out for ice cream. We got out of the car and there, right on the parking lot, we saw this fantastic creature. Look at those spots!

Even its legs are black and white.

What was it?

We had never seen a bug like this.
The wings told us it was some sort of a moth.

Naturally we looked it up in our Golden Guide.

And there it is - the Great Leopard Moth. You thought those spots looked like leopard spots, didn't you?
