It's the time of year for leaving the nest. Baby birds are fluttering around begging for food with loud insistant calls. They aren't the only babies out now.
A few mornings ago it was overcast and gloomy.
I was looking out the kitchen window.
I saw movement - something while and black flowing through the grass.
It was Mama Skunk and her three babies, sticking close together and nosing through the wet grass for slugs.
I didn't get close enough for a good picture.
I did get close to another baby.
This one had left its mama.
