This morning Socks got to explore the top of a tree and she didn't even have to do any climbing.
It was an old dead tree up by Granddad's garden. We found it flat on the ground.
Woodpeckers and nuthatches liked that old tree. They made holes all over it digging out insects to eat.
The wood was pretty rotten and it smashed to pieces when it fell.
I guess we'll let it lie there for the winter. Maybe there are still insects inside it and the birds will find them for winter food. Maybe something will find shelter here when the winter winds blow.
Socks and I will keep checking it out.
